Employee Spotlight: Dr. Nicolas Savard
D-Pace is thrilled to announce that Dr. Nicolas Savard has joined the D-Pace physics team.
Nicolas worked with D-Pace for over eight years, starting with a MITACS project with TRIUMF in 2017, and then supporting his PhD which he finished in 2021 - in which he developed and characterized a Penning ion source for helium. After his PhD, Nicolas worked with D-Pace as a Postdoctoral researcher, becoming a world expert developing fully-implicit charge and energy conserving particle-in-cell code for modeling ion sources.
Nicolas is now D-Pace’s in-house expert for computational simulations using COMSOL Multi-Physic® and Particle-in-Cell code developed in conjunction with CNRS. He has utilized these simulation skills for solving complex ion source problems for customers, as well as to support our engineering team with thermal, fluid flow, RF, and electromagnetics simulations.
D-Pace is excited for the opportunity for our customers to work with Nicolas and find out for themselves the benefits of working with such a talented physicist.
“He is one of the smartest students I had to work with. He is a great asset to D-Pace…”
