6mA DC D- achieved with filament ion source
D-Pace’s UBC PhD Student Stéphane Melanson has further developed and tested D-Pace’s TRIUMF licensed filament based volume-cusp ion source at the Auckland, New Zealand, Ion Source Test Facility, and has now achieved 6 mA DC D- (negative deuterium). This is record D- production for this Ion Source. The nominal output for this device is 5mA of D-. D-Pace has also achieved 18 mA DC H- using the same Ion Source.
D- Ion Sources are used for production of both SPECT (Single Photon Emission Tomography) and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) isotopes and are important for radioisotope producing cyclotrons.
This Ion Source is sold as a class 5mA D- filament Ion Source. It is available as a turnkey system or as hardware only. See product page here.
